Prohibited “Not hidden tattoos” at hot spring in Japan

I have something to tell you who want to enjoy hot springs in Japan. Many hot spring “温泉(Onsen)” whose go into is prohibited to the tattooed persons.

In Japan, tattoos have not good mean. Many people, especially the persons who don’t have the foreign and contact, connect tattoos with brute force and crime. They know that tattoos is not bad abroad but this is like conditioned reflex. This is Japanese circumstances. That is why Onsen owners made rules to prohibited to persons who tattooed.

Foreign tourists have been increasing recently. Hot springs owners made new rules to not brute tattooed persons. “Would you hide your tattoos with like Band-Aid”.

They are trying to make good rules. Please don’t be angry about it.
